Privacy Guarantee: Khan & Co. is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of students, parents, and educators. We do not sell student data, we do not host third-party advertisements, and we strictly comply with global digital child privacy standards including COPPA and GDPR.
1. Information We Collect
To provide high-quality learning experiences, we collect:
- Account & Identity Data: Email address or WhatsApp phone number, display name, and avatar. When signing in with Google OAuth 2.0, we receive basic profile info (email, verified status, profile photo).
- Learning & Telemetry Data: Question attempts, accuracy rates, learning objectives completed, time spent per lesson, AI Tutor query history, streak counters, and earned XP/coins.
- Payment Metadata: When purchasing a subscription, payment processing is performed directly by Stripe, Inc.. We store only anonymized transaction references (Stripe Session ID, Customer ID, tier purchased, amount, and timestamp). We never access or store payment card details.
2. How We Use Information
Collected data is used exclusively to:
- Deliver personalized practice sessions, AI weakness diagnosis, and adaptive question selection.
- Send requested parental WhatsApp and email progress reports.
- Maintain user authentication, cloud streak synchronization, and leaderboards.
- Process subscription fulfillment and send official transaction receipts.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
We work only with vetted, enterprise-grade service providers:
- Stripe, Inc.: Certified PCI-DSS Level 1 payment processor.
- Google Identity Services: Secure OAuth 2.0 authentication.
- AI Inference APIs: Anonymized educational queries processed securely via strict zero-data-retention APIs without user-identifiable training.
4. Child Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)
For learners under the age of 13, parental or institutional consent is supported via our Parent Portal and Teacher Classrooms. We do not require children to disclose more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in educational activities.
5. Data Retention & Account Deletion
Users or parents may request a copy of their academic data or request complete account deletion at any time by emailing [email protected]. Deletion requests are processed within 48 hours.
